FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Industry i55

What is Glamox i55 industrial lighting and which industries typically use these LED fixtures?

Glamox i55 industrial lighting represents a professional LED fixture series designed for demanding industrial environments requiring uniform illumination and energy efficiency. These 1500mm linear fixtures deliver between 5400 to 8100 lumens with 840 color temperature, making them ideal for manufacturing facilities, assembly lines, quality control areas, and ESD-protected electronics production environments. The i55 series serves automotive, aerospace, electronics manufacturing, and precision engineering industries where consistent lighting quality directly impacts work accuracy and safety compliance.

What are the key technical specifications for selecting Glamox i55 LED industrial fixtures?

Glamox i55 fixtures are available in two primary lumen outputs of 5400 lumens and 8100 lumens, both operating at 4000K color temperature (840 designation) with tunable white capability. The series offers DALI dimming control and high-frequency ballast options, with M20 cable entry points for industrial wiring requirements. All variants feature 1500mm length with both suspended (S) and surface-mounted (Z) configurations, providing flexibility for different ceiling heights and installation constraints in industrial environments.

Which international standards and certifications apply to Glamox i55 industrial lighting systems?

Glamox i55 industrial fixtures comply with EN 60598 lighting safety standards and IEC 62471 photobiological safety requirements for workplace environments. The series meets EN 55015 electromagnetic compatibility standards essential for operation near sensitive electronic equipment and ESD workstations. Industrial installations must also consider EN 12464-1 workplace lighting standards, which specify minimum illuminance levels and uniformity ratios for different industrial tasks, ensuring compliance with occupational safety regulations across European markets.

What are the main differences between Glamox i55 S-type and Z-type mounting variants?

Glamox i55 S-type fixtures feature suspension mounting for overhead installation from ceiling structures or cable systems, providing optimal light distribution in high-bay applications. The Z-type variants offer surface mounting directly to ceilings or structural elements, suitable for lower mounting heights and confined spaces. Both mounting types are available in identical 5400 and 8100 lumen configurations with DALI or high-frequency control options, ensuring consistent performance regardless of installation method while accommodating different industrial facility layouts.

What are the installation requirements and electrical connection specifications for Glamox i55 fixtures?

Glamox i55 fixtures require M20 cable entry connections and support both DALI digital dimming protocol and conventional high-frequency ballast operation for integration with building management systems. Installation requires appropriate suspension hardware for S-type variants or direct mounting brackets for Z-type configurations, with adequate structural support for the 1500mm fixture length. The tunable white feature requires compatible DALI controllers, while standard installations can operate with conventional switching circuits, making the series adaptable to both legacy and modern industrial electrical systems.

What are the operating temperature ranges and ingress protection ratings for Glamox i55 industrial lighting?

Glamox i55 industrial fixtures operate within standard industrial temperature ranges suitable for manufacturing environments, with LED technology ensuring stable performance across varying ambient conditions. The fixtures incorporate appropriate ingress protection ratings for industrial applications where dust and moisture exposure may occur during production processes. The robust construction withstands typical industrial vibrations and temperature fluctuations found in metalworking, assembly, and packaging operations while maintaining consistent light output throughout the operational temperature spectrum.

What maintenance intervals and service life expectations apply to Glamox i55 LED industrial fixtures?

Glamox i55 LED fixtures typically provide 50,000 to 100,000 hour operational life with minimal maintenance requirements beyond periodic cleaning of optical surfaces to maintain light output efficiency. Routine inspections should occur every 12 months to verify mounting security and electrical connections, with particular attention to M20 cable entry integrity in dusty industrial environments. The solid-state LED technology eliminates lamp replacement cycles, while DALI-equipped variants enable remote monitoring of fixture performance and predictive maintenance scheduling through building management systems.
